FLOODED WITH GOD’S LOVE

DECEMBER 5, 2022 / DAY 1#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Isaiah 44:3 For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;

Christin has been coughing continuously for several months. She tried various treatments, but her cough did not go away. She finally decided to see a doctor. Doctors found fluid in Christin’s lungs, and she had to undergo surgery immediately. Christin felt scared and sad and did not expect to suffer from a severe illness. Amid her anxiety, Christin came to God. She began to worship God, and she felt God present in her worship.

Christin heard in her heart God said, “I will lift your disease.” At that moment, she felt God’s great love covering and embracing her. Immense peace and joy filled her heart. The feeling of fear she had experienced disappeared in an instant. Coughs that are usually so excruciating also healed just like that.

Sometimes the situations and conditions of life we experience have drained our strength, so without realizing it, we experience drought. We keep trying and trying, but all we find is a failure. If any of us are currently looking for healing water, a spring of joy, a spring of success, a spring of love, or something else but haven’t been able to find it yet, know that God loves us. He wants to overwhelm us with happiness, joy, and peace. Bring all our struggles to Him and let His abundant love fill our lives and relieve us. Because we know, by His love, God wants and can turn drought into abundance.

REFLECTION

God wants to FLOOD our lives with HIS LOVE.

APPLICATIONS

1. Have you experienced God’s great love in your life so far?
2. Why do you think God longs to flood our lives with His love?
3. What steps will you take to respond to God’s love for you?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“O good Father, we are grateful for Your abundant love. Teach us always to see Your love and keep drawing closer to You. Because only with You do we feel peace. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”

PAY GOD’S GENEROSITY FORWARD

DECEMBER 4, 2022 / DAY 7#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.

Riley was a bullying victim growing up because of her petite, skinny, and black appearance. Despite her fantastic performance at school, she didn’t even get compliments from her parents. Unknowingly, Riley kept bitterness that affected the health of her stomach. When she took part in an encounter retreat following her first grade School of Ministry, she and other participants were urged to release forgiveness to whoever had hurt them.

The moment she opened her heart to release forgiveness towards her parents and all those bullying her, she felt like something was pulled out of her heart. The heavy burdened in her was lifted and replaced by a heart filled with abundant joy. Her stomachache was also gone and never returned. Since then, Riley has been testifying to people she meets. Many of her friends, including those in her cell group, were blessed by her testimony. With her talent as a teacher, she joins ministries. Many more people are blessed and helped. She felt her joy escalating over time.

Indeed, the generosity of God in our life is not for us to keep. Because if we keep it to ourselves, God’s generosity in our life will be added more. On the contrary, paying it forward will pour His generosity upon our lives, and we will forever live in His wondrous grace.

REFLECTION

PAYING God’s generosity FORWARD to OTHERS will keep us receiving GRACE AFTER GRACE from Him.

APPLICATIONS

1. What generosity of God have you received?
2. Have you paid it forward? How?
3. Why is it essential for you to pay God’s generosity forward?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Father, we long to pay Your generosity forward. Give us wisdom and the ability to pay your generosity forward, and many more will have Your generosity and joy. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

KEEPING GRACE PROTECTION IN LIFE

DECEMBER 3, 2022 / DAY 6#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Mark 4:15 And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

Rena is a nationally renowned chef. She was a regular high school graduate, but many thought she attended culinary college. Her expertise in cooking was pure grace from God. Her journey in the culinary world started when she saw an announcement about a cooking competition where the winner gets to work with a MasterChef. After praying and being confirmed by God, Rena competed in that competition. She prevailed as the winner, and her name became famous.

The taste of her food and her intelligence in producing new culinary creations drew the attention of an investor who asked her to start a new restaurant. Without asking God, Rena took the offer. Surprisingly, the investor was scamming her to get her recipes. Rena was bittered and disappointed in God. But the Holy Spirit reminded her that she didn’t consult God beforehand. Rena immediately asked God for forgiveness, knowing that she had done wrong. And God replaced her loss multiple times.

Indeed, if we fail to keep our hearts intact, we could fall into the devil’s trap. We need to be alert because the devil constantly tries to attack, poison, and bitter our hearts. It aims to break the protection of God’s grace in our life. When the seed of bitterness and negative prejudice prevail in our hearts, the grace of God will start to fade from our life. But if our heart is pure and clean, the protection of God’s grace will keep us forever in His love and grace.

REFLECTION

Be alert because the DEVIL will TRY to attack, poison, and bitter our hearts to BREAK the PROTECTION OF GOD’S GRACE in our life.

APPLICATIONS

1. How important is the protection of God’s grace in your life?
2. Why do you think the devil is trying to remove the protection of God’s grace from our life?
3. How will you keep grace in your life?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Lord, we thank You for Your endless grace in our life. Lead us to walk in Your way to win against the devil’s attack in our life. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

ROOT OF BITTERNESS DISTANCE GOD’S GRACE AWAY

DECEMBER 2, 2022 / DAY 5#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Hebrews 12:15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.

“When you forgive, you in no way change the past – but you sure do change the future.” This is a famous motivational quote from Bernard Meltzer, a motivator and renowned radio host of a program called “What’s your problem,” where he faithfully listened to his listeners’ complaints. Forgiving and letting go of bitterness is one message Bernard told people who came to him for their family, study even career problems. Thousands of American radio listeners have been motivated by his concept of forgiving. Many solved their problems and even experienced breakthroughs when they released forgiveness.

Ultimately, there is a strong connection between grace and bitterness in our hearts. The Bible records that Josef, who kept his heart calm by not putting vengeance or resentment towards his brothers, accepted the grace of God. He, who was sold as an enslaved person, and put into jail, was lifted to be second in command in Egypt after the Pharaoh.

Remember that God is love, and there is no hatred, disappointment, vengeance, or bitterness. There is only love, blessing, and grace. Living with anger will only keep us apart from God’s grace. Therefore, Keep your heart with all diligence. Don’t let the bitterness be rooted in our hearts. Learn to forgive, forget and bless those who hurt us. And we will always walk in God’s abundant grace. Amen.

REFLECTION

There is a strong bond between BEING AWAY from GRACE with the ROOT OF BITTERNESS.

APPLICATIONS

1. Do you still have a root of bitterness in your heart? What was it about?
2. What does the root of bitterness do to your life?
3. What can and should you do to keep away the root of bitterness and accept the grace of God?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Lord Jesus, we thank You for Your forgiveness. Teach us to forgive as You did to us. Please pull out every root of bitterness in our life. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

GOD WILL STRETCH HIS HANDS WHEN WE LIFT OUR HANDS

DECEMBER 1, 2022 / DAY 4#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Psalm 28:2 Hear the voice of my supplications When I cry to You, When I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary

When changing clothes one day, Wina checked a lump in her left breast. She felt it getting bigger and firmer, and she had needle-pricked pain when she touched it. She and her husband rushed to the hospital to get it diagnosed. The doctor was shocked and wondered why they were so late to come to him. The doctor claimed that Wina had invasive breast cancer, which was already in the final phase.

The doctor’s statement froze Wilna’s heart. But she realized immediately that everything is in God’s hands, including life and death. She knew she got the disease by God’s will, so she needed to comprehend God’s plan and refuse to blame Him for things in her life. In her prayers, Wilna surrendered her life to God’s control. She strengthened her faith and felt peace in her heart instead of being afraid. After a series of chemotherapy and operation, the doctor said nothing serious was left, and her condition would be well maintained with chemotherapies.

We must acknowledge that God’s grace will descend upon us when we lift our hands before Him. Love and grace will be activated whenever we feel hopeless and things seem beyond our strength. Regardless of our situation, if our eyes are focused on God and our hearts cling to Him, grace will always manifest. The abundant grace of God will save us right on time. Jesus blesses all of us.

REFLECTION

The love and grace of God DESCEND UPON US when we LIFT our hands before Him.

APPLICATIONS

1. What grace of God have you had when you lift your hands before him?
2. How important is the love and grace of God in your life?
3. What would you do to live forever in God’s love and grace?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Father, we thank You for Your faith in our life. We believe that You are with us all the time. Teach us to count and surrender to You, so Your grace will be abundantly poured upon our life. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

RELY ON GOD ONLY

NOVEMBER 30, 2022 / DAY 3#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Jeremiah 17:5 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord.

Petra was a manager in a reputable company. His career skyrocketed because he was smart and intelligent at work. Petra had a beautiful wife from a well-known family. Petra’s success in his career and family made him believe in his strength and feel no need for God. Little did he know his company had to undergo a massive layout, and he was one of those who got laid out. Not long after, he was involved in an accident. He needed to be operated on and underwent a series of high-cost treatments.

As a result, Petra’s leg was permanently disabled. His wife became irritated because Petra could no longer work, and their savings were drying away. In such a situation, Petra was reminded about God. He felt that God had rebuked him of his pride. A friend asked him to go to David’s tent. Petra could only cry because of his wrongdoing while he was there. He asked God for forgiveness and promised to count on God. And God showed him a way to start his own business and make something out of it for his family.

The words of God say that we shouldn’t rely on humans or anything other than Him. Because humans and everything else in this world are limited and mortal, when we genuinely rely on God, He will help us in our tough times and weaknesses. Therefore, let God be your only hope regardless of your current situation. When we rely on God, His abundant grace will forever be with us.

REFLECTION

Don’t rely on OTHERS; rely only on GOD.

APPLICATIONS

1. To whom have your hope lie?
2. Why we don’t count on others, but only on God?
3. How will you always rely on God?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Lord Jesus, in every problem and struggle, we want to count on You. You are the only one who could help and provide a way out. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

SECURING GOD’S GRACE IN OUR LIFE

NOVEMBER 29, 2022 / DAY 2#

TODAY’S RHEMA

John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.

Billy Graham, Chuck Templeton, and Bron Clifford were three extraordinarily gifted youngsters who delivered a sermon together in front of a large crowd in 1945. They shared the same vision to multiply their church and its people. But in ten years, only one of them remained in ministry. Chuck Templeton left the ministry in 1950 and chased a career in radio broadcasting. He told the world that he no longer believed in Jesus and had become an atheist. Bron Clifford started to leave the ministry in 1954. He lost his family and health due to alcohol addiction. Clifford died when he was 35 years old. Billy Graham, on the contrary, remained in God’s grace and is now known as a respected American evangelist and leader. He was called Mr. Clean because he was never involved in money, woman, politics, or any other scandal.

We know Saul, a man who received great grace and love from God at the beginning. Saul came from the Benjamin tribe with a history full of God’s grace and love. His life was filled with special grace after special grace, and he was ultimately anointed to become the King of Israel. It is a pity that Saul lost God’s grace, and he also lost everything else. His life ended in misery.

Today’s devotion is reminding us not to lose the grace of God. Don’t be afraid to lose everything else, be afraid to lose God’s grace. Secure the grace tightly, leaving no room for the devil to take it away. Please keep it in a way that will stay forever in our life.

REFLECTION

SECURE God’s grace in your life and LEAVE NO ROOM for the devil to STEAL it.

APPLICATIONS

1. Which grace of God do you think the devil wants to steal from your life?
2. Why is it important to keep God’s grace in your life?
3. How will you secure God’s grace in your life forever?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Father, we thank You for Your abundant grace in our life. Remind us to be alert and secure it wholeheartedly. Because we long to be living in Your grace and love forever. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

DON’T BE DISTANT FROM GOD’S GRACE

NOVEMBER 28, 2022 / DAY 1#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Hebrews 12:15a looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God;

Velin was a transferred student out of town. Her parents were already divorced, so she grew up as a hard-headed child. She liked to curse and was involved in fights and violent acts. Her grades were terrible, and she transferred schools a lot because schools refused to keep her. One day, a friend took her to church. Velin initially refused because she thought it was ridiculous. But her friend intentionally mocked her for being a coward, to which Velin accepted her challenge.

Nobody would have thought that when Velin came to Church, God touched her heart. She, who came in rebellion, cried her heart out. The turning point of her life ignited that very moment. There is no more rebelling Velin. She continued to grow in character, and her achievement significantly increased since she received God’s grace of salvation.

Just like Velin, we also want to live in the abundance of God’s grace and love. Because living in grace will produce satisfactory outcomes for everything we do. The Bible tells us not to be distant from God’s grace. Keep in mind that our God is faithful. He never leaves us. It is we who stay away from His love and grace. This is fatal and hurts our life. Because living outside of grace is a miserable and horrible kind of life. Therefore, don’t even think about being distant from God’s grace. As of today, commit to being close and living forever in God’s grace. And we will have the happiest life and receive the very best from God.

REFLECTION

God’s grace is NEVER DISTANT AWAY from us. It is we who DISTANCE OURSELVES from it.

APPLICATIONS

1. Have you ever been distant from God’s grace? How did you feel?
2. What do you think is the effect of being distant from God’s grace?
3. What is your commitment to applying today’s devotion?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Oh Lord, thank You for Your abundant love and grace in our life. Forgive us for being distant from Your grace. Lead us back to life in Your grace and love. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”

GROW WHEN ROOTED IN GOD’S HOUSE

NOVEMBER 26, 2022 / DAY 6#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Psalms 92:13-14 “Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,”

Every believer must have the desire to grow and bear fruit. But in reality, many of God’s children struggle or never grow up. Years passed, and there was no significant development in their lives. Their faith goes up and down like a roller coaster game. Under these circumstances, it would be tough for God’s children to experience growth, let alone bear fruit.

Like potato plants grown in the lowlands, tuber growth will not be as maximal if planted in the highlands. We will only grow optimally if we are planted in the right place. The most appropriate place for us to grow and continue to bear fruit in all seasons is when we are planted in the House of God. We will sprout, and even in old age, we will still be productive in producing sweet fruit.

Take a commitment to be rooted in the local church. Not just regular planting, but start to follow the Spiritual Growth Scheme completely and participate in the ministry. Do not think that service is unimportant and troublesome because serving God brings excellent gifts into our lives. There will be a gift of distinction for those of us who worship, are planted, and choose to be children of God who serve the Father and, at the same time, our LORD. We will also have healthy spiritual families and communities who support and strengthen each other so we can grow in grace. (JB)

REFLECTION

Our lives will continue to GROW in GRACE when we are ROOTED in the house of God.

APPLICATIONS

1. Have you committed to being rooted in the local church?
2. Why is it essential for you to be planted in the house of the Lord?
3. What barriers keep you from being planted in the house of God? What steps will you take to get rid of the barrier?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“O LORD, we are grateful for Your generosity in our lives. At this time, we want to make a commitment to be planted in Your house and serve You. Anoint us, LORD, that we may always obey Your commands and live according to Your will. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”

REPENTANCE WILL RETURN GRACE

NOVEMBER 25, 2022 / DAY 5#

TODAY’S RHEMA

Proverbs 28:13He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

This story begins with a little boy named Johnny stealing his classmate’s pencil. After what he did, Johnny felt very restless. He was afraid that someone would find out what he was doing and that his friends would shun him. This feeling continued to haunt him until it was time to go home from school. In the discomfort and confusion of facing his feelings, Johnny, with his innocence, came to God. In his prayer, he honestly admits what he has done.

God spoke softly to Johnny’s heart, “I forgive you, my child. Tomorrow morning, go see your friend and apologize to him.” The next day, Johnny immediately approached his friend. He returned his friend’s pencil and apologized for his mistake. Unexpectedly, his friend was not angry but hugged him and said, “I forgive you. You may have my pencil because my father bought a lot for me.” Instantly a feeling of relief and joy flooded Johnny’s heart. They both played together happily.

God longs to bestow His grace on us, His children. But often, sin keeps grace away from our lives. We may be able to hide it from the eyes of others, but not from God. Therefore start by confessing our sins and repenting from our evil ways. Thus, we return God’s grace into our lives, and we will grow in grace. (JB)

REFLECTION

SIN keeps grace AWAY from our lives, but REPENTANCE will RETURN God’s grace into our lives.

APPLICATIONS

1. Have you ever felt God’s grace running away from your life?
2. Examine your heart. Is there a sin that you have not confessed before God?
3. What repentance steps did you take to bring God’s grace back into your life?

TODAY’S PRAYER

“Jesus Christ our LORD, Your love and grace abound for us. We believe You have forgiven all our sins and transgressions. Look at our regrets and accept our repentance. Enable us to avoid sin and keep our lives in holiness. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
