APRIL 6, 2022 | DAY 3#
Mark 12:30 ‘And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment.
Do you remember the story of Cain and Abel? God accepted Abel’s offering, but not Cain’s. God was very pleased with Abel’s offering because Abel really gave the best for God and it pleased Him very much, while Cain only gave it sparingly. It is not the number of offerings that God sees, but the attitude of the heart in giving that count.
In the New Testament, there is also a story about a widow who gave only two mites for an offering in the Temple. Meanwhile, many rich people made offerings in large quantities. In the eyes of humans, we may see that the offerings given by the rich are very large. But Jesus said to His disciples that the poor widow gave more. Again, it is not the number that God counts, but the depths of the human heart that He sees.
Our God loves the praise and worship of His people, but God does not see how good our voices sound when we praise, how good our technique in worship, or even how many offerings we have given. But what God sees is the attitude of our hearts when praising and worshiping Him. Have we praised and worshiped Him from our hearts sincerely and the bottom of our hearts? Because that’s the only thing that can make God pleased with our praise and worship. (JB)
Our God IS PLEASED with praise and worship from THE DEEPEST HEART.
1. Have you praised and worshipped God with the right attitude of heart?
2. Why do you think God wants us to raise praise and worship from the bottom of our hearts?
3. Think about what we can do to make our worship praise acceptable before Him!
“O LORD, forgive us if the attitude of our hearts is still wrong in praising and worshiping You. We want to learn to worship You not only from the outside, not only from what appears on the surface. But more than that, we want to learn to be able to praise and worship You sincerely from the bottom of our hearts. And let You be pleased through our praise and worship. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
