Do Not Push Yourself Too Hard (Noon)
Ecclesiastes 5:10 He who loves silver will not be satisfied with silver; Nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity.
Every end of the month, Bella always had the same problem. She would stare at her empty wallet and feel confused, where her money was spent to. Every time she received her salary, she couldn’t help but eat and shop for whatever she liked and wanted. As the result, she had to eat instant noodles for some days.
One day, she cleaned her boarding house. She unpacked clothes in the wardrobe. There were many clothes that she hadn’t worn for a long time, she even forgot to buy them. Some of them had the same model but with different colors. She bought things she didn’t need. Especially when she saw the words SALE. In the end, she often ran out of money.
Anything that is forced will not produce a good result. If we push ourselves more than our ability, we can’t feel relaxed and enjoy ourselves. On the contrary, we will start to feel tense and depressed. Today the Word of God teaches us that we must not buy things we can’t afford. We spend more than our income. As a businessman or entrepreneur, do not let us expand beyond our strength. If there is even a slight mistake, then everything can collapse and we will incur huge losses. This of course will be very painful for us and our families. Our Lord is Most Wise. We don’t need to push ourselves, because when our capacity expands, then His blessings will be right according to our needs and circumstances. Jesus bless you.
DO NOT PUSH YOURSELF beyond your capabilities.
1. Do you often buy things beyond your capability?
2. In what areas do you often push yourself beyond your capability?
3. What consequences have you had and what is your commitment to not doing it again?
“Father, please forgive us if we always complain about our situation. It was our fault that we push ourselves beyond our capabilities. We learn to be content with what we have so that we can relax and enjoy every blessing You have given us. Thank you, Father. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
