KELUARGA ALLAH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TODAY’S RHEMA

Isaiah 60:17 “Instead of bronze I will bring gold, Instead of iron I will bring silver, Instead of wood, bronze, And instead of stones, iron. I will also make your officers peace, And your magistrates righteousness.

A wealthy businessman visits a nearby fishing village after a successful business trip. He wants to clear his mind and enjoys the scenery. When walking along the beach, he sees an elderly fisherman, enjoying his coffee while resting on a coconut tree. The businessman approaches him and asks: good day old sir, why you don’t go to sea and catch more fish? The old fisherman simply replies: I’ve caught enough.

The relentless businessman catches on: then, why you stopped good sir? By catching more fish you can buy a more sophisticated fishing boat. You can replace your old fishing net and buy a new one. You can sail a lot further and catch more fish. Then you can buy your second boat, pay another man to do the job, have enough money to start a new company. And then become a wealthy fisherman. The old fisherman thinks for a moment then answers, “Then what will happen if I become wealthy?” The businessman enthusiastically says, “You’ll find peace and have time to enjoy yourself.” The old fisherman smiles, “Then, what do you think I’m doing right now?”

Every living wanting to live peacefully as the businessman describes. It’s not entirely wrong though, to be successful and wealthy. What makes it wrong is: they tirelessly pursue their material goals and forget to fulfill their innermost needs. They pursue it hoping it will fill the emptiness within: peace.

If they direct their attention well, they’ll notice God has already given them what they desire most. By doing and following His words and messages, you will find peace the world cannot give. He will fulfill His end of Peace Covenant if we do ours first: faithfully obey His command. Commit your life entirely and He will generously provide you and your life. He will fill the emptiness in your heart and make it overflowing. Our hearts will be strong but peaceful.
