Have Vision and Dream (Noon)

Philippians 4:12-13 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Human being has the desire. Likewise, our senior pastor, Ps. Obaja Tanto Setiawan. He had a longing to successfully running his business. But, he made mistakes. He continually borrowed money to cover his previous debt. When he recalled those difficult times, he admitted that such a thing stole his peace. And God gave a revelation to him to BE CONTENT WITH HIS LIFE. When he did so, he could be relaxed and enjoy his work. Even though he has given his life to God as a pastor, he still holds this principle to this day. In particular, this principle does not prevent him from having a big vision and dream from God, to save 1 million souls.

Feeling content in all circumstances is the secret of the Apostle Paul to stay joyful. Before following Jesus, Paul had a good job and a bright future, but he left everything behind to preach the gospel of salvation. Paul did not have funds to pay for his mission, so he had to work as a tentmaker to make ends meet. What Paul said in Philippians 4: 12-13 is very true because he already experienced abundance and lack. In the original language, to be self-sufficient means to have everything that is needed. And for Paul, HAVING GOD was more than enough. In Him, Paul got everything he needed. The strength to carry out God’s mission, plus joy, and peace.

Yes, on one hand, we need to HAVE a GREAT VISION AND DREAM, but on the other hand, we must LEARN TO FEEL CONTENT with WHAT God has given us in our lives now. If we only pursue a vision, we can be successful but unhappy. If we just make ends meet, we can be happy, but not successful. So if we want to be successful and happy, we still have to have a big vision for us to strive for, and while we are struggling, still be grateful for the blessings that God has given in our lives. Jesus bless you.

You can do BOTH: feeling content and having GREAT VISIONS.

1. Have you felt content with your life?
2. How do you make it balance between feeling content and continuing to pursue your visions and dreams?
3. Write down your commitment to achieving God’s great vision for your life by feeling content with your life.

“Jesus, thank you for rhema that You give for us. Give us the wisdom and ability to be content in all circumstances and to have big visions and dreams in our lives. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
