It Is Not Our Work nor Our Effort, It Is God the Source of Blessing (Noon)

1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all.

That afternoon, Shane was watering plants in her home garden. All of a sudden, the water stop running. She immediately looked toward the water tap and saw her sister Shane turning the tap on and off. With a smile, she went to see her and said, “Shane, this tap is the water source. If you turn it off, I can’t have water for the plants.” With an innocent look, Shane nodded in understanding of Shane’s explanation.

Subconsciously, we often feel that everything we have comes from our hard work, intelligence, or perhaps because of our connection and people who help us. Such aspects have their own role for sure. But we need to realize that, without God the all-giving, we will not have the intelligence nor people to help us. When we see these factors as the extension of God’s hand, we will acknowledge that God is the source of everything. Our work and effort are just channels; let’s not forget the true source.

Channels of blessing may change, but with the same source, the blessing will always flow. Like a hose channels water to plants regardless of models and brands. God can utilize anyone or any work to direct His blessing to us. Hence, don’t mind ourselves, other people, or work as the source of blessing. Also, be mindful that our life is a channel of God’s blessing. The blessing should not rest with us but it should be directed to others around us as well.

Our work and effort are only CHANNELS OF BLESSING, attend to ensure that God is THE SOURCE OF BLESSINGS.

1. Do you think your work and effort are the sources of blessings? Why?
2. Why do work, effort, or a person considered as channels of God’s blessings?
3. Do you have any shift of paradigm knowing that God is the source of blessing?

“God forgive us for being cocky for our ability. Forgive us for feeling that other people are sources of blessing for us. We know now that you are the only source of blessing. We long to be Your channels of blessings so that more people will have Your blessings through our life. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
