Let’s Respond to the Duty: Share theGospel (Noon)

2 Corinthians 11:7-33

2 Corinthians 11:23 Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.

Almolonga was a very poor city. The people were very impecunious and addicted to alcohol. Violence, black magic, idolatry, it’s all there. The government built 4 prison buildings but could not accommodate prisoners because too many people were imprisoned so excess prisoners were routinely transported to another nearby town. To ease their suffering, many people made idols and amulets. In this era, the gospel could not enter the city. The evangelists who came would be driven out, wherein the small house church would be stoned. Evangelists will be excluded as a minority.

One day, 6 people had their guns pointed at Ps. Mariano, one of the pastors there. When the muggers were about to pull the trigger, Ps. Mariano screamed at God and when the trigger was released, nothing happened. He then gathered several people to pray. It was time to break the bonds of violence, superstition, and poverty. They fasted 3-4 days a week. Every Saturday they gathered to pray together. That’s when the door opened. “People are liberated and saved, they come to church. There was a great revival. After many miraculous signs occurred and many people were released from the bonds of the devil, the church started to grow. ” Today there are more than 24 evangelical churches in Almolonga with a population of around 19,000 people. Ps. Mariano accommodates about 1,200 people and is almost always full at every service. The presence of the Holy Spirit is not only measured by church growth but also He is working in the busy trading area in Almolonga, which reveals the very real impact of social transformation. Streets and buildings are also given the Bible name.

Given the current conditions, maybe we are not so sure that we can be used by God to bring healing to others, indeed there are many challenges we will face when we preach the gospel of salvation. But be aware, when God commands us to do something, God will give us the ability to do it! Jesus bless you.

Be prepared because there will ALWAYS be CHALLENGES in SHARING THE GOSPEL.

1. Are you ready to face challenges when sharing the gospel of Christ?
2. What challenges do you face while sharing the gospel?
3. What is your commitment to be fruitful for Christ and save lost souls for God?

“Lord Jesus, thank you for Your Word this day. Teach us, Holy Spirit, to be brave and ready to accept all challenges when we preach the gospel because we know that You are always with us and helping us. Thanks, God. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we have prayed. Amen.”
