Live a Life of True Repentance (Morning)
2 Chronicles 7:14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
Mr. Smith is a convert. He didn’t believe in Christ until recently. He believed in paranormal activities and occultism. But after receiving Jesus as his true and only savior, Mr. Smith shows promising traits: he no longer quick to anger and his anger is explosive. One day, his son is sick and Mr. Smith invites his preacher to come and pray for his son. After praying, the pastor notices something peculiar. A Bible under the child’s pillow. He is surprised because the boy is only 4. He asks Mr. Smith about the Bible “Sir, what purpose the Bible serve? I see your son is only four, can he read it?” Mr. Smith answers nonchalantly, “Mr. Pastor, I did it to dispel any bad omens and evil spirits. I believe the Bible contains a legion of angels.” The pastor just nodded, even after his conversion, Mr. Smith still thinks that Bible is a talisman. In the body, he is a convert but in spirit, he still believes in occultism.
Many people think after they leave behind a trail of sins then they would emerge clean and victorious. Sadly, no. They may abandon their bigger problems but they still hoard tiny ‘insignificant’ sins. Sin is sin. There’s nothing as big or small as sin. Sin and transgression separate you from God. He wants us to be cleansed, purified and then, join Him in glory and holiness.
It’s almost impossible to abandon and leave sinful nature behind. It’s so tempting, so attractive. Yet deadly and fatal. It prohibits you from reaching your spiritual peak and completion. It makes it difficult for hearing Holy Spirit’s voice calling you back. Right now, commit yourself to the life of holiness. Repent wholeheartedly and He will forgive. Above all else, He will grant you a fruitful and prosperous life.
COMMIT yourself and live a life of TRUE REPENTANCE.
1. What does true repentance mean to you?
2. Have you truly lived a life of true repentance or is there any sin you compromised?
3. What are your commitments when it comes to true repentance?
“Jesus Christ our LORD, we are proud because You are our loving God, tirelessly reminds us on how to live up our true repentance. Forgive us if somehow we still compromise our sins, and help us to abandon all of it. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
