Our Life Goal (Morning)
Isaiah 55:8-9 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways, ” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
George Washington Truett, once invited to a dinner by a Texan oil magnate. After dinner, he invited Truett to a balcony, pointing his fingers to an oil field, and said to Mr. Truett. “Mr. Truett, 25 years ago I came to this country penniless. Now I have everything”. He pointed his finger across to a field, “Those are mine”. Then to some herd of cattle, “Those also mine”. Finally, he pointed his finger at a forest then said, “That forest is mine”. “Those are all mine, I worked hard and invest my money well. Now I have it all”. He paused, waiting for Mr. Truett to praise him, but instead he touched the oil magnate shoulder, then calmly said while pointing his another finger up above, “My friend, how much do you have there?”
Wherever we are right now, how prestigious our position is, or our success, it doesn’t matter. Our position and our stance right now are not the end. He has a greater vision, plans, and blessing that far exceeds our imagination. He wants us to save more souls, be a blessing for nations, and expand His kingdom.
Today, let’s prepare ourselves. Don’t let our current condition in life comfort us and in the end, spoil us. Fix your sight up and above to diligently follow His words. Now it’s time to take action. He never fails His plans so do not worry or hesitate. You’ll see His plans unfolded before your eyes.
This world we live on IS NOT HIS GOAL for our lives.
1. What makes us unable to see His goal for our lives?
2. What is His final destination for our lives?
3. What will you do to achieve His final destination in your life?
“O LORD, we are grateful for Your kindness in our lives. We are grateful for the plans You have in our lives. We want to further understand that our final destination in this life is far beyond this world. We want to further glorify Your name through our lives. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
