Refined by The Holy Spirit (Noon)
1 Peter 1:6-7 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another [\Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
Wendy’s steps stopped when she was in front of a pottery art gallery. Her eyes were fixed on a large vase with interesting details and colors. There was only one flower vase and it was placed in the middle of the gallery so that anyone who entered the art gallery could see the vase. She was curious and asked the gallery owner, how to make the beautiful vase. The gallery owner kindly told her and other visitors about how it was made. Even the gallery owners allowed them to see firsthand the process of making pottery in the gallery.
After seeing the pottery-making process, Wendy understood why these items were of such high value. She saw how many processes the clay had to go through. Starting from selecting clay, cleaning the dirt, and then shaping by the hands of the craftsman. If there is an error shaping, the wet clay will be crushed and reformed. It takes a long process until the clay can enter the combustion process and be painted with special paints with beautiful colors.
Our life is like clay. We must be willing to shape. Initially, our hearts need to be cleansed of all defilements so that it becomes pure. The Holy Spirit is holy, therefore the Holy Spirit loves people who have pure hearts. Be happy if we are currently facing various trials because they are meant to strengthen and prove the purity of our faith. The sooner we understand and obey the refining process of the Holy Spirit, the sooner we will win over each of our problems. Because in a pure heart, the Holy Spirit will freely work, bringing us to a higher level in the grace and glory of God.
Be willing to be REFINED by the Holy Spirit.
1. Are your life now being processed by God? In what ways?
2. In your opinion, what is the purpose of this process?
3. How will you respond to the refining process of the Holy Spirit and what will you accomplish afterward?
“Father, we know it is not easy but we want to follow every process You do for us. We believe that every process will not bring us down. It will purify us more so that we deserve Your glory in our lives. Enable us, Father. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
