Rely on God as the Source of Blessings (Evening)
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.
Let say that we are in a bad situation, and it seems like there is no way out. For example, when our food supply is running out, and we don’t have income, and our children are in danger of hunger. There must be consternation, fear, and despair. This is what happened to a widow of Zarephath. She was troubled in debts and only a handful of flour and a little oil in a jar. It is not clear in the Bible on the widow’s way of life. But something miraculous happened, GOD REMEMBERED HER LONG BEFORE SHE WAS FINISHED, and God had prepared a great plan for her. Through Elijah, a great prophet sent by God to see her (1 Kings 17:9), the widow experienced a miracle of abundance from God.
Apostle Paul had the same experience in his journey spreading the Gospel. We can name some people which God used to help Paul. Such as Lidia, who gave her house for the teaching. There were also Aquila and Prisca who supported Paul’s works and countless other names. Here we learn that PEOPLE WHO RELY ON GOD WILL NOT BE KEPT AWAY FROM BLESSINGS.
Now it is our turn to testify that an Almighty Person behind us is ready to support our life so long as we rely on Him. A dry and helpless life will be made fruitful. As we make Him our only source of blessing and power, his promise is real and true that the children of people who lived in truth will not beg and will be a blessing for many. And the name of God will forever be glorified in our life. Alleluia!
Blessed be those who RELY ON GOD as the SOURCE OF BLESSINGS in their life.
1. How far have you been relying on God as the Source of blessing?
2. What hinders you from seeing that God is the only source of blessing?
3. How do you handle the problem and start to rely on God as the source of blessing in your life?
“Holy Spirit, thank You for always be there for us. We believe that our life is in Your hands. Teach us to rely on You as the only source of blessings in our life. Because we know, outside of You, we are helpless. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
