Removing Thorns from Our Lives (Morning)

Jeremiah 4:14 O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, That you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?

Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award is America’s most prestigious award given to American organizations. This award was discussed back in the early 1980s because American stakeholders acknowledged renewed emphasis on quality was necessary for doing business in an expanding and competitive world market. In 1988, sixty-six big companies competed, but only three won. The first Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award was awarded to Motorola among the other two contestants. Motorola had heard about this prestigious award in 1981, and they sent their representatives to many well-known and well-managed organizations around the globe to improve their performance and product quality.

The first thing that must be done is to reduce defective products. Each employee that could identify and report the defective products would be rewarded. It became each employee’s responsibility to identify and remove them. This technique is proven to be successful. By simplifying certain parts they could spot defective products more easily, they could simplify 1.378 parts to just 523. This inadvertently cut unnecessary costs and increase their profits, 44%, and income by 23%. They could also manage to cut things up to 250 million USD. The official report said that their phones are 99,99997% defect-free.

God, Himself creates us with extraordinary potentials 100% defect-free. But at the same time He sends us to this world, the devil planted some thorns in our hearts. These thorns grow and prevent us from reaching our true potential, to be fruitful. Then how one could identify these thorns? Laziness, unproductive behavior, bad influence, unhealthy lifestyle are just to name a few. Right now, He wants you to identify more of your thorns and remove them. After those thorns are removed you’ll see your harvest will be.

It’s time to IDENTIFY and CLEAN YOUR HEART from thorns.

1. Do you have thorns in your heart? How does it affect your life?
2. How important it is to identify and then remove the spiritual thorns in your life?
3. What will you do to prevent those thorns from regrowing and takes control of your heart?

“Jesus Christ our LORD, we are thankful for our potentials You generously gave to us. We want to live alongside You, but to achieve that, we need to identify and remove our spiritual thorns. Help us in this endeavor. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
