Strengthen Your Heart in Hardship (Morning)

Isaiah 50:4-11

Isaiah 50:7 “For the Lord GOD will help Me; Therefore I will not be disgraced; Therefore I have set My face like a flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed.

Having a newborn is every married couple’s dream. Prophet Zechariah and his wife, Elizabeth were longed to have and hold a baby in their arms. But the reality wasn’t good enough. In their old days, their prayers weren’t answered. To make matters even worse, both Zechariah and Elizabeth were highly respected members of society. Zechariah was a priest and Elizabeth was the descendant of Aaron. They hoped a progeny better than themselves to continue the family legacy as the servants of GOD. The burden was especially heavier for Elizabeth because she was a female and her maternal instinct tingled with emptiness when she saw a mother with her child.

As a priest, Zechariah wasn’t going to waste his time. He used his position and privileges well. He prayed every day and every time in front of the Tabernacle. He repeated that same prayer: he wanted a child. To serve GOD and continue his legacy, because he was an old man and death could take him anytime. He tirelessly prayed until one day, the angel of the LORD appeared in front of him and said: do not be afraid, for your prayer is heard. Because he doubted God, the angel made him mute and unable to speak. A small price when God truly made His end of the bargain. From then on, the story of John the Baptist was ready to be unfolded.

Steadfastly resolve your resolution. Keep your faith and spirit. All those hardships and troubles were there because He knows we could face it and emerged victoriously. In this time of Chrismast vigil, stay awake. He needs us to be ready because we don’t know the time, only He does, and when He sees us keep our guard He will make us witness great miracles unfolded.

In HARDSHIP, we need to STRENGTHEN OUR HEARTS and stay firm in the faith.

1. Do you currently in a dire and difficult situation? Share it
2. Why it is necessary to remain steadfast amidst this chaotic situation?
3. What will you do to make your resolution stronger to emerge victorious in your current obstacles?

“God enables me to remain steadfast in my spirit and mind. I believe You’ll let me experience glory and restoration, greater than before and more magnificent than Ever. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.”
