The Right Guilt Helps Us Not to Perish (Noon)

Romans 12:1-8

Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

A volcanic eruption is a miserable phenomenon. The eruption does not only destroy one city, but it affects the global climate. We are grateful that in this increasingly advanced era, we may have the technology to monitor the danger status of a volcano. By placing sensors on top of an active volcano, experts can see volcanic activity so that when it shows signs of erupting, the people living near it can find out early warnings and have time to save themselves. Without warning, of course, the death toll will be far more because it is too late to flee.

Before ascending to heaven, Jesus sent us another helper, namely the Holy Spirit. According to His name, He is the one who will help, comfort, and lead us to salvation. If we live attached to the Holy Spirit, then He will transform us the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12: 2). What is true in the eyes of humans and the world, is not necessarily true in the eyes of God. If there is no Holy Spirit to give warning signals if we take a wrong step, we may not sin.

Like Cain, because he did not feel guilty, he did not repent and lost God’s grace. Because of their ignorance, the people of Sodom and Gomorrah perished in their sins. Because he did not decide, King Saul lost God’s favor, so he lost power and lost his life. The security of the Holy Spirit is the feeling that brings us to salvation. Immediately respond quickly to our mistakes to God, ask forgiveness, and repent sincerely. Don’t be ashamed about apologizing or correcting something to make things right. Then the Holy Spirit will be free and we will receive great grace from God.

1. What is meant by true pain?
2. Why do you need to think it is right?
3. Try testing and correcting yourself with the Word of God who knows whether your situation is correct?

”Father, help us to Your eyes. Guide and give us the strength to obey so that we can experience Your miraculous promise happen to our lives. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
