The Spirit of Keluarga Allah is Kinship, Togethernes,s and Unity (Evening)

Ephesians 4:17-32

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Since becoming a ruler in Egypt, the light of God that rose upon Joseph grew brighter. He didn’t only become a blessing to some but to the entire Egyptians. But in God’s eyes, all this was not enough. There was still a task for Joseph, to be a light to his family. When his brothers came to face him, he had two choices. Punish or embrace and give them brotherly love. And Joseph was very humble man and he kept his heart clean, so he accepted them sincerely and gave up forgiveness. That was the beginning of their family togetherness again. And when there was togetherness, Joseph’s light shines even more. God used him even more. Not only is it a blessing to Egyptians and its family, but also the nations around the world.

This year we are all so busy with the pandemic that has hit almost all aspects of our lives. We must strive for extra work, the welfare of children and families is our top priority. And not a few people are desperately struggling to be able to complete their studies in these times of the pandemic. We also become less concerned with other people’s conditions. Minds that are tense and focused to survive amid a pandemic, can make it easy for us to rub against other people. Brotherhood, togetherness, and unity also face the threat of division.

In this Christmas moment, God longs for each of us to understand His heart. God wants each of His children to live in brotherly love. There is a strong sense of togetherness and oneness between us. Not about being physically together, but having a close heart with each other. Having said that, let’s get out of our busy lives for a moment. Pay attention to those who have not been ‘close’ to us for a long time. Embrace our cell group, friends, and also our extended family. Release forgiveness and get rid of hurt or disappointment. That is the spirit of God’s family! Because where there are unity and togetherness, that’s where God’s blessings are poured out. We will all see how the light of His glory will shine more and more in our midst and the name of God will be more and more exalted. Hallelujah!

1. Look, are there any friends or relatives who are getting further away from you these days?
2. What caused your and their relationship to become distant?
3. What do you think God wants you to do to make the relationship warm again?

“Lord Jesus, thank you for reminding us that Christmas is a moment of togetherness, where Your love can be felt by many people. Help us to rebuild togetherness and unity among us and may every heart return and love sincerely. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
