Walking Towards the Glory of God (Evening)

Philippians 3:1-16

Philippians 3:13b-14 forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

A woman was scorned, judged, and even was about to be stoned to death because she was caught in adultery. You can imagine how embarrassed, hopeless, and afraid you would be to face so many people. She was brought before Jesus so that Jesus could pass the proper punishment for her actions. But what Jesus did was not the same as the world’s treatment of her. Not even a word of judgment came out of Jesus’ mouth. Jesus freed and gave her a new opportunity with one message, don’t sin again. After that incident, how that woman lived was a choice.

Some people might still gossip about her past mistakes. But she had the choice: to live in her past mistakes because of what people say or to live out what God says by starting a new life. If the woman wanted to focus on advancing, using the new life opportunities God has given her, her life will be changed. She can be fruitful and have a victorious life. On the other hand, if she keeps looking back, she would miss the opportunity to live a life full of blessings and miracles.

Some of us must have had bad, embarrassing, or even past experiences like there is no hope of having a good life because the past is so dark. But just as experienced by that woman, GOD ALWAYS PROVIDES NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BE CHANGED. God’s love and power are enough to make our future hopeful. No matter how bitter the Marah is, there will be Elim if we want to rise up and go forward with God. And this is the time. Don’t delay anymore, because God’s glory has come. Immediately take care of everything we have to fix. Take off all the burdens and sins that hinder our footsteps! Let us run after the heavenly calling and crown that God has provided for all of us. Hallelujah!

No more living our bad past anymore. LOOK AT THE GLORY WHAT GOD PROMISES to us.

1. Are there any past events that still haunt you and make it difficult for you to move forward?
2. How do you think God thinks about you and your past?
3. Immediately commit to cleansing your heart and soul and moving forward with God.

“Lord Jesus, You know our past and our future. Thank you for whatever has happened in our past with Your permission. We know all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to Your plan. And we want to move forward with the new opportunities that You have given us. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
