Blessed to Be a Blessing (Evening)
Proverbs 22:9 He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor
Dr. Thomas Eko is a Neurologist living in Bali. He is known as a successful man, both in his career and in his family. 3 of his children have become doctors and the youngest child who is a college student is so brilliant. His wife has a famous beauty clinic in the city of Denpasar. It could be said that he has everything that many people want. He is successful, blessed, and happy. But, many may not know his background story. To attend medical school, he was helped by his other relatives who were richer.
God’s blessing was poured out tremendously. His patient once was only 3-4 people, but now there are countless patients. He always remembers that this was all the goodness and grace of God. He always gives God’s work, helps relatives who are in trouble, provides school fees, and serves poor patients. In short, he is truly a blessing, both for God and others.
In the KJV translation, it says in 2 Cor 9: 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: This means that God will give us Special Grace so that we are not only blessed, but we will receive abundance and become a blessing for doing good to many people (Good work). This is the reason why God wants to grant us the grace to enjoy Uncommon Harvest. God does not bless us to be enjoyed ourselves alone, but He will bless us abundantly so that we can become a blessing to many people. And we will give thanks to the Lord and His name be glorified.
God doesn’t only BLESS us, but He will pour out ABUNDANCE so that we can BE A BLESSING to many.
1. In your opinion, what is the purpose of God blessing you?
2. How have you managed God’s blessings over the years? Have you become a blessing?
3. What will you do so that the blessings you receive from the Lord will be a blessing to many?
“Lord, thank you for all your blessings on our lives. Enable us to have a heart that full of love dare to give, so that our lives may be a blessing for the Kingdom of God and our neighbors. In the name of the Lord Jesus, we pray. Amen.”
