Speak the Words of Faith and Prophetic Declaration to Conquer Fear (Noon)

RHEMA

Matthew 17.20b I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.

There is a technique in psychology called positive affirmation. In the Indonesian dictionary, affirmation is defined as positive determination or sincere recognition. In the most basic sense, affirmation exerts positive thoughts to remove negative ones. This technique requires continuous positive words to influence our subconscious mind. Some examples of affirmation are “My body is a healthy body” or “I can finish this task”, etc.

According to research by Carnegie Mellon University, one can increase their ability to overcome problems with affirmation. Hearing positive words, our brain releases the good endorphin (happiness hormone) which provides peace, heals wound and increase our immunity. Like the saying “We are what we think”, to continue thinking positively will bring positive outcomes. On the other hand, filling our minds with negative thoughts conveys adverse effects. This understanding is written in Job 3.25.

To the world, affirmation means a lot more. It helps to overcome fear and become more powerful with words of faith and prophetic declaration. Because faith comes from listening to God’s word (Romans 10:17), we can conquer fear by saying the word of God. When in fear, just say out loud that God’s Spirit grants no fear but strength (2 Timothy 1:7), or when in calamities, say that works to bring good (Rome 8:28). If the affirmation is helpful to our mind and body, thus words of faith and prophetic declaration will not only bring joy to our body and mind, but our spirit will be resurrected to fight against all fear.
