There Are Warm Embrace and Love Inside The Church (Evening)

1 John 4:7-21

1 John 4:7-8 Dear friends, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves has been fathered by God and knows God. The person who does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Lizzie is the epitome of a successful businesswoman. She is hardworking and has a clear target of how her life should be. She works tirelessly from dawn to dusk. She never rejects overtime. Her only goal in life: to accumulate wealth so she can retire in peace. But sometimes, she feels lonely. She lost contact with her school friends and university friends. She rarely visits her parent’s home and celebrates Christmas together. At the very top, she has everything and nothing simultaneously.

One night after overtime, she drives her car alone. Her car suddenly stopped without prior notice: out of gas. She’s too tired to swear and decided to wait until a towing service comes. While waiting, she hears a beautiful song. She traces the sound and found out that her car was stalled right in front of a church. She didn’t realize what day it was until it’s too late: 24 December. Hesitantly she finds her legs bring her closer to that church: I can wait for the towing service while attending Chrismas service, she talks to herself. In that church, she finds happy faces everywhere. She almost forgets when the last time she attended the Christmas service. She feels her heartwarming up. It’s been years since she felt like this.

Two millennia ago, Bible prophecied, at the end of time, love would get colder. People’s hearts would be cold and insensitive. But inside the church and house of God warm embrace could always be found. There are closeness, intimacy, a supportive environment, and togetherness. On one side like obedient citizens, we should obey our government order to keep social distancing, but at the same time as the citizens of the heavenly kingdom, we must fight for our unity in Christ. In God’s name, we can do both. Let’s create a warm atmosphere by re-establishing our foundation in togetherness and unity.

Even if IT’S COLD and dark outside, you could still find WARM EMBRACE and LOVE inside His church

1. What you’ve already done to celebrate this Christmas?
2. Have you already created a welcoming and loving atmosphere around you and your dwellings?
3. What are your plans to keep the Chrismas’ warmth and loving atmosphere even after Christmas?

“Truly we are grateful O LORD, You still let us celebrate this Christmas. We want to be Your lantern in this dark world and rise up. It’s the moment we celebrate Your light comes not this world, dispel the darkness and brings new hope. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.”
