What Will We Experience When We Feel His Presence? (Morning)

KELUARGA ALLAH DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TODAY’S RHEMA

Psalm 23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

One bright beautiful day, a group of grown-up men was trying to hitch a boat. They wanted to sail across a huge lake. It was nice at first when out of a sudden, the weather worsened. The wind was so violent they feared their mast would be ripped apart. The wave shook their boat back and forth. To make matters worse, they were in the middle of that lake. Swimming was not an option. A group of grown-up men, shaking and begging for their lives.

But one man, he was sleeping, quietly and peacefully. The other men tried to wake him up. Maybe still sleepy, he just rebuked the wind and water. Just like a child being scolded, the wind and water calmed down. One interesting fact is: before Jesus rebuked the wind and water, He scolded His disciples by saying: why are you so fearful, o you of little faith. What’s behind the reason He told that to His disciples? It’s because they didn’t aware of His presence among them. Their fear and irrational anxiety clouded their judgment and faith.

Most of the time, we are like them. Our first response when strong winds shake our ship is fearful and anxious. Irrational fear would do nothing beneficial to settle our problems it would only make it worse and inflict more fear. But when we are aware of His presence in our boat, He will wake up, walk and rebuke our troubles. He is lying there, sleeping. No problems are too big to handle with God at our side.
